The Characteristics of Praise
- Live
- Real
- Authentic
- Contagious
- Zealous
Psalms 22:3
- God is in the praises of his people
- Men demonstrate and set the tone for worship
- Greatest men in the bible were the biggest praisers
- Praise is not just a woman’s thing
- You praise God because He is the one.
Psalms 8:2, Matthew 21
- Praise is passionate
- Emotions are needed just don’t be ruled by them
What does Praise do
Psalms 100:1-4
- Praise God in the times where you don’t know what to do.
- Praise is a breeding ground for faith
- Praise transfers you out of your own abilities into the abilities God has placed on you
- Praise God in all things not for all things
- Praise is a weapon to silence the enemy. It is one of the ways you fight the good fight of faith
- Praise is a perfecter. It invites God, the perfect one, into your imperfect situation.
- Praise releases from bondage and gives inner peace (2 chronicles 20:20, Acts 16:16)
- Praise breaks up large problems (Joshua 6:1-20)
- Praise manifests the presence of God (Psalms 106:19-20)
- When you praise you begin to look more like God (2 Corinthians 18)
- Praise confuses the enemy (2 Chronicles 20:1-24)
- Increase happens
