Week 5: Double For Your Trouble

Isaiah 61:7 (KJV)- For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Have you ever been in an embarrassing situation and was publicly humiliated? Maybe your relationship didn’t progress as expected, the dream you declared failed or you didn’t reach your professional goals as anticipated. These are just some examples that are presented to you during your journey in life. The residues of those painful experiences may seem permanent, but you are more powerful that you believe. As God’s chosen, He has equipped you to overcome every embarrassing predicament. Isaiah 61:7 (KJV) states, For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. The reward for remaining immovable despite the shame is double for your trouble. Your influence is sure to increase among multitudes of people and you will be crowned as a champion!

Embarrassment is a negative emotion with a threefold purpose. Its objective is to stop or cause you to be stagnant, forfeit your future and keep you away from what God graced you to become. However, there is greatness and promotion on the other side of shame if you stay focused, renew your mind and obey Him. Keep your vision at the center of your heart for sustaining energy.

Remember, you are not a victim of your decisions. Therefore, surround yourself with friends who have the ability to encourage you out of shame. Laugh in the midst of adversity while trusting God to restore and reconcile you in the presence of others.

Continue with God and receive double!
