Week 9: Count The Cost

Luke 14:28 (KJV)- For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Have you ever desired to accomplish a goal or dream such as lose weight, start a business or get married? Although you initially worked eagerly to obtain the end result, your excitement was short-lived because thorough preparation was overlooked. Counting the cost is a necessary action that is essential to achieving your personal desires. As God’s chosen, this is especially true. Luke 14:28 states, For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? God made you unique and with a special purpose. Because His love is unconditional, He desires for you to live a life that accompanies the state of His goodness. Therefore, counting the cost for what He already promised you is important, along with exerting immediate action.

Sanctification is a significant part of counting the cost. It means, being one with God and being set aside for a plan and purpose designed by God. In this sacred time, you are able to hear the wisdom of God on specific details while developing spiritually. Your journey will not only lead to you being set aside, but also apart and above for God’s glory.

While you are counting the cost for what God promised you, don’t despise your small beginnings. God rewards your willingness and obedience to His word. Since He gave you everything you need to succeed, you can remain full of joy, patience and confidence. Your distinguishing mark of His grace will be revealed to multitudes of people.

Count the cost and win!
